The Poppy Appeal is the primary fundraiser for the Royal British Legion. Monies raised go to support members of the armed services and their families.
The Poppy Appeal year begins on 1st October each year and runs until the end of September the following year. The largest part of the money raised is during the three weeks running up to Remembrance Weekend on the closest Sunday to 11th November. Throughout the remainder of the year the Branch hold various fundraising events to boost the Poppy Appeal. Horncastle area residents have repeatedly shown amazing support for the Appeal, which has shown an increase of over 50% over the last 5 years.
